Don't Be Afraid of Printing

Consider these facts about how print is recycled and reused:

87% of Americans have access to curbside or drop off recycling programs and 63.5% of all paper consumed in the U.S. was recovered for recycling in 2010.

There are 12 million more acres of forest that exist in the U.S. today than 20 years ago.

1.7 million trees are planted every day by the U.S. paper and forest products industry; and 600 million annually worldwide.

Why Go Green: A Fad?

These days everywhere you go, people are ‘going green’. This is more than a fad or a trend, this is a movement, and about time. Our awareness of our impact on the planet is greater every day, requiring even more of a commitment to thoughtful use of our earth’s resources.

The printing industry has been one of the first to acknowledge the need for stewarded forests and energetic recycling programs. Design Printing has acquired and maintains certifications ( link to that stuff?) that show our commitment to recycling from the ground up.

Is Printing on Paper Not A Good Idea in this Age of Conservation?

In fact, the use of paper printing is even more important than ever. With certifications by the FSC Forestry Stewardship Council and the SFI, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, we are acutely aware of how we create and use paper. With a commitment for recycling at our own plant, and supporting recycling for our clients- ask about our custom recycling bins!– we are making a very conscious effort to use paper resources wisely.
