At the 2009 PIASA Awards Design Printing was honored by the Printing Industry Association of Southern California for Print Excellence.
It was a night when the best got together at the Bonaventure Hotel to recognize printers from around Southern California for their printing efforts. "This year we saw a record number of entries, so the competition was fierce" says owners Paul and Bijan Bina of Design Printing. "We were extremely impressed by the quality, variety presented and honored to be chosen".

Design Printing Los Angeles owners and brothers Paul Bina & Bijan Bina know that
using recycled papers and vegetable based inks is only part of the story. Although,
of course, they use high post-consumer recycled content, non-chlorine-bleached and
"treeless" papers whenever possible. And because in most jobs, vegetable based inks
work just fine, Design Printing avoids inks containing heavy metals like lead,
cadmium, and mercury, which are commonly used to produce some bright colors.
Currently working towards Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification, Design
Printing has a mission of sustainability that extends into many facets of their
operations. They employ a state of the art silver recovery system so all chemistry
and water waste from the "Direct to Plate Machine" don't contaminate ground water;
they have a blanket/roller wash system that reduces vac's by 35 percent; they use
energy efficient equipment; they find alternative ways to get the desired effect of
coatings, inks and labels, which can all affect the recycle-ability of a printed
document; and they recycle everything possible.
Most recently, Design Printing instituted a new program to help their non-profit
and commercial clients recycle as well. Design Printing will drop off their attractive
and colorful Recycling Bins and pick up the recycling for no charge! Just another
way Design Printing is working to help create a clean and safe world for future generations.

2113 Graphics was honored at the 14th Annual Communicator Awards for their piece they designed for the "World of Magic Awards Promotional Packaging". This is now 4 awards they have won and more to come hopefully!

It was a night of celebration and comradery as we gathered with many old friends and employees at the 2008 PIASA annual awards banquet. This year we were the proud recipients of (4) Best of Category Awards and (6) Award of Excellence. These prestigious honors are bestowed on only a handful of printers in the southern California area. But it’s not the first time Design has been recognized for excellence. The company has been the recipient of many awards from PIASC over the past five years.
“In this highly competitive marketplace, we work hard to set Design Printing apart from the competition,” said owners Paul and Bijan Bina. “It is an honor to be recognized for our achievements by a panel of judges who are not only our peers, but also accomplished industry professionals.”

Beverly Hills Police Department 2006 Annual Report Wins at 2007 SAVVY Awards — Silver Circle Award. A Police Department can only celebrate a 100-year anniversary one time and Beverly Hills took full advantage of the opportunity. The report serves as a source of pride, presenting the organization in a way seldom seen in local government. The photography, the timeline approach and rich use of color all give the reader the impression of quality. This is truly a superior publication – made even better because it was partially funded with a donation. Congratulations on a job well done.
Design Printing was honored in being selected to print the 2006 Annual Report. Rock'n Motion Image Design in Tarzana, Califonia was the design firm that created the 24 page book on Recycled paper.
